Arsenal have defended 4.5 per cent increases to their season tickets following a four-year freeze on prices.

The price of the cheapest season ticket at the Emirates Stadium is £925, an increase from £885 last season.

This means Arsenal fans will be paying £275 more than the next expensive club in the Premier League, Liverpool.

Despite the rises, club director Danny Fizman has defended the increases and claimed that ticket prices remained good value for fans.

"There are often comparisons made and we seem to be expensive, but it's never apples for apples.

"Our season tickets include cup and Champions League games, which other clubs charge extra for," he explained.

He claimed that inflation within football had prompted the rise and said that fans had enjoyed four years of fixed prices.

"We think it's better to have a small, steady increase rather than a big jump," he claimed.

Arsenal moved to the Emirates Staidum two years ago where fans have received good value for money in terms of goals.

The 0-0 draw against AC Milan in the first leg of the Champions League knockout stage was the only goalless draw at the ground last season.
