Two consultancy firms have been given the task of finding a site for Aberdeen's proposed community stadium.
The stadium will be built as part of a joint scheme between Aberdeen Football Club and the city council and it will provide a new ground for the football club.
Expected to cost £50 million, two sites have been identified at the King's Links and Loirston Loch.
The firms must decide which site to choose for the 22,000-seat stadium, which could be ready by 2012.
According to reports from the BBC, the sites will be assessed on a number of levels before one is chosen.
Kate Dean, Aberdeen City Council leader, said the firms would assess how suitable each site was and whether the project could be delivered on each one.
A civil engineering firm and a transport planning company will decide which site is best for the new stadium.
