Jordan furious after tribunal ruling

Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan feels his club have been treated unfairly after a Football League transfer tribunal settled a player dispute with Tottenham Hotspur.

Jordan's club will receive £700,000, rising to £1.25 million, for John Bostock after he agreed a five-year deal with the north London side.

The 16-year-old's deal with Crystal Palace ended last week but no fee had been agreed, meaning a trial was needed.

But Jordan feels Palace have been hard done by as he values the youngster, who has never played in the Premier League, at £5 million.

He claimed rulings such as this allow big clubs to take all the young talent at a cheap price to the detriment of smaller teams.

"The FA want to have the best national team, but if the best young talent sits in the reserves, what chance do we have? The transfer system is flawed," he claimed.

He said there was no point in developing young players if clubs were not protected when a case went to tribunal, the Times reports.

Palace had asked the tribunal to award them £2 million plus a further £2.5 million when the youngster had played 40 matches for Spurs.
