Football fans are snubbing a highly-paid outing to a Premier League match and instead opting for the cheaper option of foreign leagues.
While ticket prices to see some of the best teams in the country are increasingly on the rise, British football fans are opting to see matches in countries such as Germany, where a ticket can cost as little as £5.
According to reports in the Guardian, some fans find it cheaper to get a plane and a ticket to a German game than they do to visit some of the Premier League's biggest teams.
As well as trips to the Bundesliga, fans are also going to matches in La Liga.
Andrew Cummings, a British fan in Valencia, told the newspaper that his season ticket cost only £200.
He also said that match-day tickets at cheap prices were attracting big crowds.
"More of my family and friends have started coming to matches in Spain as it's a cheaper alternative to English football," he added.
Other fans watching games in Germany said the attraction was cheap tickets, old-fashioned terraces and cheap beer that is allowed in the stands.
