Queens Park Rangers have agreed a record £7 million sponsorship deal with Gulf Air.

The Championship club will bank £1 million from the airline next season when they display the Gulf Air logo on their shirts.

But QPR stand to receive a further £6 million over the next two seasons if they gain promotion to the Premier League, the Times reports.

The deal also includes a loyalty scheme for supporters as well as a potential football community scouting programme in the Middle East, along with community projects in London and Bahrain.

Chairman of the club, Flavio Briatore, told the club's official website that he was "extremely excited" by the deal.

"We are one step closer to achieving our goal of making Queens Park Rangers Football Club a global brand and putting Loftus Road on the world football map," he said.

The deal follows sponsorship agreements signed earlier in the year, including a deal with Santander and a multimillion pound agreement with Lotto Sport Italia.

Supporters have been promised that their club would be promoted to the Premier League by 2010.
