Premier League clubs have received a whopping £758 million between them in television revenue this season, the Daily Telegraph has revealed today (Thursday).
The figure represents a substantial rise of 63 per cent on last year's total of £464 million, with even relegated Derby, statistically the worst team in Premier League history, pocketing a cool £29 million.
Champions Manchester United led the way, receiving £49 million, while fellow top four incumbents Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool banked in excess of £45 million.
United's total included the £13.4 million domestic and £9.3 million overseas television rights sums given to all 20 clubs, plus around £12 million from appearing in live fixtures and £14.4 million for winning the title.
The finishing position money, paid in segments of £720,321 per place, was up almost £240,000, while the figures generated from the new domestic television rights deal represented a 50 per cent increase on last season.
In addition, the Rams and fellow relegated sides Birmingham and Reading received a total of £125 million in parachute payments - a sum which, remarkably, is equivalent to the Premier League's entire turnover from ten years ago.
