New kit deal to aid Welsh soccer

Football Sponsors/ Sponsorship and Media

The Welsh Football Trust (WFT) has teamed up with sports kit supplier Mitre for a new deal which will help develop the game in the country.

Mitre will supply kit and equipment to the trust over the next three years, allowing accredited clubs and schools in Wales to buy Mitre branded football equipment at special discounted rates.

The WFT works closely with the FAW to encourage more Welsh boys and girls to follow in the footsteps of the likes of John Charles, Leighton James and Ryan Giggs by taking up the game.

It aims to identify and develop talented players to support the success of future international teams and hopefully help the country to qualify for its first World Cup since 1958.

The Mitre deal could boost the chances of doing this.

Welsh Football Trust chairman, Peter Lee, told ic Wales website: "Mitre is a quality football brand and I’m delighted it has become the Trust’s official kit and equipment supplier.

"I am particularly pleased that the benefits of Mitre's sponsorship will be passed on to the grass roots of the game in Wales by ensuring clubs can purchase discounted kit and equipment for their activities."
