The boot room, the Kop and Shankly Gates could soon be a thing of the past - Liverpool's revised plans for its 60,000-seat Stanley Park stadium have been approved by the city council.
It is the third draft of the plans - councillors approved the original artist impression plans four years ago.
The scheme has many opponents, with some labelling the plans "monstrous" and claiming that the stadium complex is too big for the area.
Improved leisure and retail facilities are included in the latest plans with Anfield due to be redeveloped as a car park, sports centre and hotel.
Fans of the scheme believe that the scheme will regenerate public land which stands between Anfield and arch rivals Everton's current ground, Goodison Park.
But it is not clear whether owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett will have ended their feud when the time comes round for Liverpool to up sticks to their new stadium.
The relationship between the two men, who only bought the club last year, broke down some time ago, with the pair now only communicating through the press.
