The proposed redevelopment of Bristol Rovers' stadium has been delayed.
Work was due to begin on the Memorial Stadium once the season finished but now the club wants to play two pre-season matches there.
It means that the workmen cannot move in until later in the year but most people at the club are happy that it is the right decision.
"To have some pre-season games and training here will help us," first-team coach Paul Trollope told BBC Radio Bristol.
Bristol Rovers have still not decided where they will be playing their home matches next season as they seek a temporary home while the work on the Memorial Stadium takes place.
The club is currently 16th in League One, safe from relegation but unlikely to move much further up the table.
Coach Trollope recently revealed that striker Richard Walker, who has scored 62 goals for the club since joining in 2004 is now surplus to requirements.
