The Scottish Premier League season may be extended if Rangers make it to the Uefa Cup final.
According to SPL officials, the season may have to be extended from its current end date of May 18th to May 22nd.
It is because of a large number of match postponements this season and the SPL claims there is no way that the remaining fixtures can "reasonably be played in the available time" unless changes are made.
"It is well documented that this has been an exceptionally challenging season in terms of fixturing," SPL secretary Iain Blair told the BBC.
"The combination of a number of diverse circumstances has produced unparalleled scheduling problems," he added.
The proposals have drawn criticism from some quarters, with Celtic claiming that a rescheduling could threaten the integrity of the league.
According to the SPL, two fixture lists have been drawn up, with Rangers playing four games in eight days whichever one is used.
Rangers face Fiorentina in the semi-finals of the Uufa Cup.
