Rotherham United are hopeful that they could have new owners by the end of this week.
The club's chief operating officer Paul Douglas told the BBC that a number of bids were received by the end of last week.
A deadline had been set by Rotherham's administrator for bids to be received by last Friday or the club would go into liquidation.
A number were made in the nick of time and Rotherham hope to make an announcement in the next few days.
"The bids have come after a good deal of discussion," Mr Douglas told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"They've had a chance to look at the figures so nobody's gone into this blind," he added.
Former directors Dino Maccio and Alan Cartlege are heading up a consortium which has tabled a bid.
However, Mr Douglas said that the club will not rush into a decision.
"They need to look at what kind of strategy there will be for getting the club out of administration," he continued.
