Rotherham United are on the brink of going into liquidation, according to the club's administrator.
Jeremy Bleazard told BBC Radio Sheffield that the club has until 17:00 BST on Friday the April 17th to find a buyer.
Hundreds of thousands of pounds are owed by Rotherham to the Inland Revenue but a deal may be reached in time.
Dino Maccio and Alan Cartledge, both former directors of the club, are said to have a rescue package ready and part of that deal will keep the club at its current home Millmoor.
Rotherham manager Mark Robins told BBC Radio Sheffield said that things need to get moving quickly.
"A lot of people care deeply about this club," he commented.
"We've got to get things sorted out and resolved as quickly as possible," added the former Norwich City striker.
The club were relegated last season after being hit with a ten-point penalty for getting into serious financial difficulties in 2006.
