Motherwell Football Club has a new shirt sponsor in the form of betting firm JAXX.

The two-year deal is worth up to £200,000 per season and makes the firm the official betting partner of Motherwell.

JAXX will appear on the Scottish Premier League side's shirts from the 2008-09 season and the club is delighted with the deal.

"The shirt sponsorship deal is the most important partnership for any club due to the strong association between the two brands," said Motherwell chief executive Ian Stillie.

"We were very impressed by the freshness and vitality of the JAXX brand and its sports betting offering, as well as the company's proven dedication to partnerships in football.

"The dedicated club betting page will also be a welcome addition to our online offering and we're looking forward to a successful long-term partnership," he added.

Motherwell currently sit third in the Scottish Premier League, just two points ahead of Dundee United and Hibernian.

Their latest match, at home to Celtic, saw them beaten 4-1.
