It appears that Paul Butler and Tony Dinning's days as Chester City players are numbered.
The pair have been suspended by the club and may have played their last games.
Both players have been punished for a "serious breach of club discipline", although it is not clear exactly what they are alleged to have done.
Simon Davis, manager of Chester City, has revealed that the incident is being dealt with internally.
He also said that the decision to suspend the pair had been taken with the best interests of the club in mind.
"This is an internal dispute, and the decision has been taken for the best interest of Chester City Football Club," said Davis.
"Neither player figures in my plans for next season," he added.
Paul Butler is the club captain and was virtually ever present since joining in the summer before picking up a number of injuries.
