Supporters of Norwich City and Ipswich Town have been told that they must act responsibly when the two sides meet on Sunday (April 13th).
Suffolk Police are keen for the Championship match to pass without incident and away fans will be escorted to and from the stadium.
The game will be played at Ipswich Town's Portman Road at midday and pubs in the area have agreed not to sell alcohol prior to the match.
Around 250 Suffolk Police officers and the British Transport Police will be involved in operations before, during and after the match.
"We will continue our use of firm but fair policing to ensure the safety of those attending the game and those members of the public wishing to go about their normal business," detective superintendent Tim Beach of Suffolk Police told the BBC.
Ipswich currently sit one place off the promotion spots in the Championship, just one point behind Crystal Palace.
Norwich however, are 15th, five points off the relegation zone but with five clubs between them and 22nd place Leicester City.
