Paul Ince has pledged to act as an inspiration to black players who are considering lengthening their football career beyond their playing days.
Currently, only two of the 92 managers at English League clubs are black - MK Dons' Ince and Keith Alexander at Macclesfield.
However, Ince believes that his trailblazing efforts at stadium:mk could be enough to convince current black players such as Andy Cole, Sol Campbell and Ledley King to give management a go.
"Why not try your hand at management? It can be done and if I can be the yardstick then I've done something good," he told the BBC.
"I hope I can do something to say to people like Cole, Campbell and King that once they've finished playing football, why go out of it?"
MK Dons are currently flying high in League Two - they are top of the table, level on points with second-placed Peterborough with a game in hand - and will play Grimsby for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Wembley on Sunday.
