The Football Association has announced that an audit of football transfers is to take place.
Investigative firm Quest has been hired for the operation, which will look specifically at movements during the January transfer window.
It will also be extended to include any further transfers that take place in the summer of 2008.
Quest was responsible for an inquiry into transfer dealings between January 2004 and January 2006 but the FA has advised that things will be different this time around.
"It will focus specifically on reviewing the FA's processes in respect of the new Agents Regulations, assessing compliance with FA rules and identifying any areas of poor practice within the industry," FA director of governance Jonathan Hall told the BBC.
In the previous investigation, Quest looked at 362 transfers and concluded that five clubs were involved in 17 transfers which were "uncleared".
