A landmark radio agreement has been reached between the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Uefa.
It will see public service radio broadcasters in 15 countries gain access to technical reporting facilities at each match during Euro 2008.
The deal secures radio broadcasts for 15 countries which were not included in the existing television contracts.
The EBU claims that the deal signals the organisation's intent to ensure that Euro 2008 is accessible to as many people as possible.
"This is good for radio and good for football. Broadcasters who could not otherwise have covered the event will be able to offer their audiences live, delayed and on-demand reports from the most important sport competition in Europe this year," said EBU radio director Raina Konstantinova.
"Football fans in 15 countries will now be able to enjoy the tournament anytime, any place and anywhere thanks to the power of radio," he added.
Euro 2008 is being hosted by Austria and Switzerland.
